DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last Updated: October 8, 2026

LovieMe respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. LovieMe provides DNS infrastructure and subdomain delegation — it does not host or control user content. However, we will process valid copyright takedown notices in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent international copyright law, and will take appropriate action against users who repeatedly infringe on others' intellectual property.

1. Important Notice — Scope of LovieMe's Role

LovieMe is a DNS infrastructure provider, not a web host. We manage the DNS records that point your subdomain to third-party hosting platforms (Vercel, Netlify, GitHub Pages, etc.). We do not store, serve, or control the actual website content behind user subdomains.

If infringing content is hosted on a platform pointed to by a lovie.me subdomain, we strongly recommend you also file a takedown notice with the actual hosting provider (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare Pages). LovieMe can disable or reclaim the DNS delegation but cannot remove the underlying hosted content.

2. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

To file a valid DMCA takedown notice with LovieMe, submit a written notice to legal@lovie.me containing all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are covered.
  2. Identification of the infringing material: The full URL or subdomain (e.g., example.lovie.me) where the infringing content appears, with sufficient detail to locate the material.
  3. Your contact information: Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement: A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.
  6. Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorised agent.

Incomplete notices will not be processed. Knowingly filing a false DMCA notice may expose you to legal liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) and equivalent Indian copyright law.

3. Our Response to Valid Notices

Upon receipt of a complete and valid DMCA notice, LovieMe will:

  • Review the notice within 5 business days.
  • Notify the registered account holder of the complaint.
  • Disable or reclaim the DNS delegation for the identified subdomain if the notice is found to be valid.
  • Forward the notice to the account holder so they may file a counter-notice if they believe the takedown is incorrect.

4. Counter-Notice Procedure

If you believe your subdomain was disabled as a result of a mistaken or wrongful DMCA notice, you may file a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include:

  1. Identification of the subdomain that was disabled and its location before removal.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Indian courts (or, for users in the US, the Federal District Court for your judicial district).
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Submit counter-notices to legal@lovie.me. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will notify the original complainant and may restore the subdomain delegation after 10–14 business days if the complainant does not initiate legal proceedings.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

LovieMe maintains a strict repeat infringer policy. Accounts that receive two or more valid DMCA notices will be permanently terminated and all associated subdomains released. We reserve the right to terminate accounts at our discretion for even a single egregious infringement.

6. Trademark Disputes

For trademark-related complaints (e.g., a subdomain that impersonates your brand), please contact us at legal@lovie.me with your trademark registration details and evidence of the infringement. Trademark disputes are handled on a case-by-case basis and are not governed by the DMCA process.
